Gaynor marathon

Run for Hamelin with your ballot place!

One of our fantastic supporters, Gaynor, was lucky enough to secure a place through the public ballot for the 2025 London Marathon and chose to use her place to raise funds for Hamelin, If you have been successful in this year's ballot why not do the same?

Gaynor said: “Running for a charity was the boost I needed. When I hit mile 18 and started to struggle, I thought about why I was running - the people Hamelin helps, the challenges they face, and the difference even one donation can make. That really spurred me on, because I didn't want to let anyone down."

If you've secured your own ballot place in the 2027 London Marathon, we'd love to hear from you and support your fundraising journey.

Full own place terms can be found here.

No. Unfortunately, we receive more applications than charity places available, so submitting an application does not guarantee you a place.

We review each application individually and allocate places at our discretion. Due to the number of applications we receive, we're unable to provide feedback to unsuccessful applicants.

You must be aged 18 or over on the day of the 2027 TCS London Marathon.

We'll contact you with details of how to secure your place. You'll need to:

  • Accept your place by the deadline provided.
  • Pay the non-refundable £100 registration fee.
  • Complete your official London Marathon registration before the organiser's deadline.

If these steps aren't completed on time, your place may be offered to someone else.

No, there is no charge to apply. Only those who are successful in securing a charity place with Hamelin are subject to the £100 non-refundable registration fee.

No. The registration fee is non-refundable.

If you're running with a Hamelin charity place, you'll need to raise a minimum of £2,200, excluding Gift Aid and your registration fee.

Yes. If you register before 1 November 2026, you'll need to have raised or personally donated £650 of your fundraising target by 31 December 2026 to demonstrate your commitment to your charity place.

Your minimum fundraising target must be paid to Hamelin no later than six weeks after the London Marathon.

We'll always speak with you first to understand your circumstances. If your minimum fundraising target hasn't been met by the deadline, we may ask you to pay the outstanding balance. In exceptional circumstances, we may agree a payment plan.

Yes. We ask all charity place runners to set up an online fundraising page and actively fundraise throughout their marathon journey.

Absolutely. We'd love to welcome you to #TeamHamelin. If you've secured your own place through the public ballot, Good for Age or another entry route, there's no minimum fundraising target, although we encourage you to raise as much as you can.
