Volunteer Role Title: Volunteer Support Worker

Location: 19 Radford Crescent, Billericay, CM12 0DU

Hours: Wednesday, 9am-3pm. Half days will be considered

Purpose of Role

We are looking for a volunteer to support a staff member who will be supporting a gentleman with learning disabilities.  The role will involve supporting on trips out in the community, for example lunch, shopping, visiting museums and swimming. The volunteer will be required every Wednesday, between 9am and 3pm, however half days will be considered.


Trips out will leave and return from the Hamelin centre in Billericay. Volunteers must be 18 years and older.


Volunteers will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, receive training, regular support and supervision, and celebratory social events. Expenses will also be reimbursed.


The volunteer WILL NOT BE responsible for any personal care needs: This includes complex manual handling, dressing, feeding or administrating any medication. There will always be a trained member of staff with you at all times.
 

 

Attributes/skills needed

•           Previous experience of learning disabilities, epilepsy and first aid are required.
•           Open to people from all backgrounds.
 

 

Other related activities may include:

Volunteers are expected to attend face to face induction training and online learning and any other training that is considered to be relevant to the role.

           Completed Volunteer Application Form (not required at this stage)
           Enhanced DBS (completed and paid for by Hamelin)
