Reports to: Volunteer Manager
Hours: Every Wednesday 10am-2pm
About Us:
Hamelin exists to reimagine life for autistic people and adults with learning disabilities, enabling limitless possibilities. Our mission is to build inclusive, caring, and compassionate communities for autistic people and adults with learning disabilities. By empowering and supporting these people, we strive to enable them to live the lives they choose.
Purpose of Role
Volunteering will take place at Abbeyfields Medical Centre Gardens in Colchester.
The beautiful gardens at Abbey Field Medical Centre are cared for by participants and volunteers from Hamelin’s Links befriending and mentoring programme.
Links helps support autistic adults and people with learning disabilities to make new friends, explore new opportunities in their community, learn new skills and have fun.
The volunteer will be required to help lead the group, sharing skills and knowledge of gardening.
Sessions at the community garden take place every Wednesday 10.30am – 2pm.
It would also be helpful if the volunteer could help some Fridays where a plant sale is held at the medical centre to raise funds, although this is not essential.
