Volunteer Role Title: Volunteer Ability Works Employment Advisor

Location: Roots & Shoots, Sutton Bridge Farm, Sutton Road, Rochford, SS4 1XS

Hours: Thursdays and/or Fridays 10am – 3pm

Purpose of Role

Volunteering will take place at our Ability Works project in in Rochford. A volunteer is required to support Hamelin’s Ability Works programme, helping autistic adults and people with learning disabilities develop work and life skills. This will involve assisting in running workshops, guiding participants through practical tasks, and helping to create a supportive, structured environment on a 6-month programme. The role involves encouraging engagement, providing clear instructions, and helping individuals gain confidence and independence.

 

Attributes/skills needed

•           confidence in speaking to small groups

•           good communication and interpersonal skills

•           patience, empathy, and a positive attitude

•           organised and reliable

•           ability to encourage and support others

Volunteers are expected to attend face to face induction training and online learning and any other training that is considered to be relevant to the role

 

Requirements

           Completed Volunteer Application Form

•           Enhanced DBS (completed and paid for by Hamelin)
