Christine has been volunteering for Hamelin for eight years and always makes sure everyone is happy and having a great time. She helps the people we support build on their sewing skills, enabling them to complete lovely designs and items.
Her nomination reads: “People feel very comfortable with Christine and never hesitate to ask her anything or have a conversation with her. She always has a smile on her face and she’s a very calming influence as well as very kind to everyone.
Christine has a great rapport with the people we support. When working with them, she uses her excellent communication skills to make adaptations and break things down for them. One of the people supported said, ‘she is a wonderful person to work with.’
The staff team also adore her and love having her around. A staff member who runs the sessions where Christine volunteers said ‘Christine is lots of fun, has lots of patience and gives lots of support with the session and she is just a godsend!
Christine really demonstrates she wants to make a difference and superbly demonstrates our value of ‘we enhance lives.’”
