Pauline has been volunteering for Hamelin for almost a year-and-a-half at the charity’s centre in Billericay. She supports with a variety of activities including various art activities and indoor and outdoor games. She supports people in group activities, but also provides support on a one-to-one basis for those who need a bit of extra help. This enables them to engage and participate fully in the activities.
Her nomination read:
“Pauline always goes the extra mile! She is always very supportive, intuitive, proactive and wonderful with the people we support. She is always patient, kind, and friendly and takes a genuine interest in our people and enjoys having a chat with them during the lunch breaks.
“Pauline has also supported outside of her usual volunteering days with a day trip to Southend and an evening trip to a pantomime as well as helping with our Christmas tree collections in January.
“She is a very kind, caring person and thoroughly deserves this biggest heart award.”
