Participants on Hamelin's Ability Works employment training programme recently took part in a first aid course delivered by Mark One Training as part of the company's 45 for 45 Community Commitment project.
The initiative, which sees Mark One Training deliver 45 fully supported community projects throughout 2026, combines the organisation's expertise in professional training and equipment hire to give back to local communities.
During the session, participants learned a range of essential first aid skills, including CPR, responding to someone who is unconscious, dealing with choking incidents, managing minor injuries, and understanding how to react in emergency situations.
The training provided an excellent opportunity for participants to develop valuable new skills that can benefit them both in the workplace and in everyday life.
Lisa Webb, Hamelin’s Ability Works Employment Support Co-ordinator, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Mark One Training for delivering the session and for going above and beyond to ensure the course was accessible to everyone who attended. The team adapted the training to meet the needs of our participants, demonstrating a genuine commitment to inclusivity and community action.
“Everyone came away from the training with improved confidence and awareness of what to do in an emergency situation. Thank you to Mark One Training for supporting our participants and helping them gain skills that could one day save a life.”
