Respite Support

We offer a range of respite services from daytime sessions and holiday breaks to long-term housing for people with profound learning and physical disabilities. Parents, carers and siblings can take time to look after their own welfare, safe in the knowledge that their loved one is receiving high quality care.

Community Support

We know autistic people and people with learning disabilities want to have the same opportunities as everyone else. Our community support services will help you realise your life goals whether that’s to be more independent, find paid work, learn life skills or try different things and make new friends.

How we do things

We are a team of innovators and educators with a common purpose: empowering autistic people and individuals with learning disabilities to lead independent lives. Compassion, bravery, and optimism define us.

Stat 2

40,000+

adults in Essex are autistic or have a learning disability, but many do not receive support to live the life they choose. We’re here to meet the growing unmet demand.

Stat 3

30%

of working age autistic people are in employment, vs 80% of neurotypical, non-disabled people. Our employment and training programmes help people build skills and confidence to secure paid work.

Stat 1

88%

of families and carers surveyed said their loved one was always or very often felt sad. 82% of people felt lonely due to rarely being able to leave their home. Hamelin’s befriending and mentoring service aims to reduce loneliness and increase resilience of participants.

Our CQC rating is ‘Good’

Whilst the support within each of our services differs, our commitment to high quality, personalised care for people with learning and physical disabilities is unwavering.
