Volunteer Role Title: Volunteer Cook
Location: Gowlands, Sutton Bridge Farm, Sutton Road, Rochford, SS4 1XS
Hours: Thursdays and/or Saturdays and/or Sundays 2pm – 6/7pm

Purpose of Role
Gowlands is our 9-bedroom short stay centre for autistic adults and people with learning disabilities, which is set in 5 acres of grounds at Sutton Farm, Rochford. We offer a home from home for families who are looking for respite care, from an overnight stay to a 2-week break.
A volunteer cook is required to prepare meals for between 9 and 15 guests, providing a nutritious and well-balanced meal, paying attention to special diets.
Interaction with guests would also be required, for example when guests would like to help prepare or cook their own meals.
Attributes/skills needed
• Experience in a working kitchen is desirable
• Catering qualification desirable
• Health & Safety certificates desirable
• Patience and understanding
• Ability to work as part of a team
Other related activities may include:
Volunteers are expected to attend face to face induction training and online learning and any other training that is considered to be relevant to the role
Requirements
• Completed Volunteer Application Form (not required at this stage)
• Enhanced DBS (completed and paid for by Hamelin)
