Waitrose & Partners Billericay has donated £600 to Hamelin through its Community Matters programme.
The money will be used to develop Hamelin’s volunteering programme and fund additional training opportunities for the wonderful people who donate their valuable time to support our community.
Hamelin’s Volunteer Manager, Julie Atkinson, and Director of People, Grace Osborne, were delighted to welcome Julie Fiske, Waitrose Billericay’s Community Champion, to our Radford Crescent site to show her around and meet some of the people we support as well as members of our volunteer team.
Julie Atkinson said: “We are extremely grateful to Waitrose Billericay for supporting Hamelin’s volunteering programme.
“We know people volunteer to give time back to their community and make a difference, but some of our volunteers who are currently out of work find volunteering also gives them the opportunity to upskill in order to be better equipped to find employment.
“By providing training opportunities for our volunteers, we can help make a difference to our wider community and give something back to those who give so much to Hamelin and the people we support.”
