Hamelin is a passionate charity dedicated to redefining care for autistic people and individuals with learning disabilities. We are proud to foster a people-centred, values-led culture that puts compassion, innovation, and community at its heart.

We are looking for a dynamic People Advisor to be at the forefront of an exciting digital transformation, playing a vital role in shaping how we work. You will take a hands-on lead in rolling out our new HRIS and rostering system — automating time-consuming manual tasks, streamlining payroll, and empowering managers and staff to embrace new ways of working with confidence.

Alongside this, you’ll provide practical and empathetic employee relations support, guiding managers through disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance challenges, helping to sustain a positive and supportive workplace culture.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the implementation and adoption of new HR and rostering systems across our services.
  • Provide training, troubleshooting, and ongoing support to ensure smooth uptake and effective use of new technology.
  • Collaborate closely with payroll to ensure accurate, timely processing and facilitate the transition to automated payroll functions.
  • Deliver expert employee relations guidance, supporting managers with casework including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and performance issues.
  • Build strong relationships across services, regularly visiting Rochford and Wickford to provide visible HR support and respond to emerging needs.

What we’re looking for:

  • CIPD Level 5 or working towards it, with solid generalist HR experience.
  • Proven experience with HRIS or rostering systems and payroll support.
  • Confident handling of employee relations casework.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Practical, flexible, and able to work independently with a proactive approach.

Why join Hamelin?

  • Be part of a purpose-driven organisation committed to innovation and enhancing lives.
  • Play a key role in a significant digital transformation with real impact.
  • Join a supportive, values-led team focused on collaboration and growth.
